Gainesville On-Air
Monday - Friday Lineup
Linda Flores
12AM - 6AM
It's a happy accident that I'm in radio. In college I was lucky enough to have a scholarship with the music/theater department and was studying to be a recording engineer. My dad worked for NASA making sure the astronauts could talk back to mission control, so I've been around sound equipment all my life. One day I visited the on campus radio station to drop off some music that I had just recorded. The manager pulled me aside and asked if I had ever considered being on the radio and I said NO! But he offered to PAY me and so... my radio career started! It's still kinda crazy that I get paid to do something I love!
Jeff Deweese
6AM - 10AM
Jeff has been interested in being a radio personality almost all his life. He's done it all from having records to organize, tapes to locate, transmitter readings to record, phones to answer, copy to rehearse and plenty more busy work. It's been over four decades now and he still find radio fun every day.
Larry Wilson
10AM - 3PM
I was born in San Diego, California and raised in Idaho and Montana. Made the move to Gainesville in 2018 and haven’t looked back! I’ve learned everything I can about entertaining on the radio since 1982. My wife – Keri – and I had a beautiful June wedding in 1988 and have 2 kids, (adults now) – Bobby and Devin. Being on the radio is meaningful and fun to me and my family. I feel very blessed to be behind the mic every day! Me and my family love getting out and exploring, whether it be one of our many beaches, which is always just a short drive away or riding the trails on our bikes, and we even hit a golf ball around from time to time, we don’t keep score though! We also have a fun, competitive love for Pickle Ball! And a Little known secret, I don’t even mind cleaning up the fallen branches in the back yard after a storm,,, hey its “outside”, we’re good! Our family also follows sports, as we have been known to take a day trip for an MLB or an NFL game! Join me weekdays from 10am to 3pm on 106.9 I Am Country!
Jim West
3PM - 8PM
Jim is a two-time finalist for the Country Radio Hall of Fame in Nashville, a finalist for CMA Air Personality of the year and a recent inductee into the Greater Arizona Country Music HOF. In 2015 West wrote a book called; The Phoenix Sound, A History of Twang & Rockabilly Music in Arizona. Jim knows and loves country music!
Doyle King
8PM - 12AM
I was born in Dallas and raised the small town of Coppell, Texas. My step-dad was a horse trader, so I had my own horse at age 12 and I rode him to school a few times, when I missed the bus. I also love going to the outdoors and that's where you'll find me and the dogs at least a couple of times a week. I love music, of every genre. Guess it's a good thing I got into radio at the age of 19. Follow me on Facebook or on Twitter @ImDoyleKing
