February 12th - COVID-19, A Dead Dolphin, and the Alachua County Commission

 

The world health organization has assigned a new name to what has been so far known as the Coronavirus. It's official title is COVID-19. The new name assignment makes sense because "Coronavirus" is a family name for a large group of similar diseases. The death toll for COVID-19 has exceeded 1000 people in China.

Officials are offering $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot and or stabbed a dolphin here in Florida. The body was found washed up off the coast of Naples.

Alachua County Commissioner Charles Chestnut collapsed during a county meeting. He later woke up and was able to walk to an ambulance under his own power.
