An update on hurricane Michael. As of yesterday evening it is predicted that Michael may make it to a category 3 Hurricane and is still supposed to make landfall somewhere in the panhandle. The number of counties in a state of emergency increased to 35 yesterday and counties in the area are canceling school.

The storm could always skew further east, which could put a hurting on counties like Marion. Sand bags are available for Marion residents this morning at The Wrigley Field in Citra and the Dunnellon City Complex.

Also, to help prepare for the storm you should probably sign up for emergency alerts from your county. To name a few: Dixie, Levy, Alachua, Suwannee, and Marion counties all have alerts you can sign up for.
