June 10th - Internet Regulation, Smoking, and the Devil's Millhopper

Maine recently enacted a law that would require internet providers to ask their customers permission to sell or use their private data. The law goes into effect July of next year. It’s unlikely that the law will go unchallenged though. The state regulation would go against certain FCC standards and could trip over the Interstate Commerce Clause.


Texas recently made the smoking age 21, making it the 15th state to do so. The law begins September 1st. Members of the military are exempt from the law

The Devil’s Millhopper park is back open. It was closed for almost 2 years from Hurricane Irma. Workers built a brand-new path, though this one doesn’t go as far into the sinkhole.
