If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, I’ve got a Holiday event update for you. Hawthorne is having tons of festivities downtown starting at 11am, the city of Alachua’s Christmas parade starts at 2pm, and Christmas in Chiefland starts at around 8am.
A new elementary school is going to be built southwest of Gainesville. The Alachua County school board is placing it on a plot of land near Oakmont, and its being paid for by the half cent tax increase that was approved in November.
Asking your kids to text you when they arrive someplace is pretty normal for parents, but if you want to step it up a level a company in Florida has got just the thing. For the price of around 10 dollars a day, you can put your kid on parole by purchasing an ankle monitor that tracks their location by GPS satellite.
