A 75-year-old man in ocala is accused of stealing $500 worth of toys from a toys for tots donation box a few days before christmas. The accused used to be affiliated with toys for tots. He reportedly pretended to be a volunteer and tricked the employee at the car dealership where the box was located. Fortunatly, the community later donated enough money to replace the toys.

On Christmas eve, Hundreds of Santas could be seen surfing off the waters of Cocoa beach. The holiday themed surfing event raised 40 grand for charity this year, and has apparently been going on yearly for a decade.

Alachua County's new event center could be getting placed on the Cabot/Koppers superfund site in Gainesville. Approval is in January. A superfund site is an area that the epa has designated as contaminated. The site was blighted by several decades of industrial activity. Over the years a lot of effort has been put forth to clean it up.
