We’ve got wind of a truly 21st century contest. If you can give up your smartphone for a year, VitaminWater will pay you $100000. Unfortunately we all can’t participate. They’re only going to chose one person. If you want to take a crack at it, you have to tag vitamin water in an Instagram or twitter post  and use #nophoneforayear and #contest. They want you to also tell them what you will do while you are disconnected from your phone.

UF’s new baseball stadium is going to show up a little later than originally planned, and it’s going to be a bit pricier too. The cost went from 50 million to 65 million and the expected opening date is by the 2021 season.

Having rowdy or dangerous dogs in Alachua County is going to cost you more than it used to. The change was prompted after 3 pit bills killed a smaller dog and injured her owner a few months ago. Among other things, the fines for a nuisance animal and for not controlling your dog both increased to $250. The former tripled and the latter quintupled.
